Come celebrate individuals who have contributed their lives to bettering those of all APIAs with APEX’s 4th Annual Community Leaders Reception.  This year’s theme “Civic Engagement for a New Generation: Why Get Involved?  Why Stay Involved?” was inspired by our desire to educate and energize young APIAs to take an active interest in the issues and concerns facing the Asian American community at large, whether it’s political participation, civic volunteerism, or the issues of race, ethnicity, civil rights and immigration.

Previous speakers have included: Honorable Ronald S.W. Lew, the first Chinese-American appointed as a United States District Court Judge in the continental United States, Honorable John Chiang, California’s State Controller and the highest ranking Asian American elected official in the continental United States, and Coach Norm Chow, UCLA’s Football Offensive Coordinator.
